Hi,
I have some issues to put somes generic layers into my yocto workspace.
I would like to user meta_webserver from onpenembedded but there are actually downloadable for dora branch of yocto project Whereas isee wiki use denzy.

Do you have layout for isee dora support, or apache layers for denzy support anywhere ?

Thanks for your replies,
Marc

    Hi,

No, we only support denzil, but some users use dylan without problems, other branches probably doesn't work as expected but shouldn't be difficult adapt current meta-isee layer for these branches like dora.

Did you try? What's the error?

    Thanks for your help,

May I ask you why did you use deprecated denzil and don't you support dora ?

yeah I try to use meta-isee layer but I had some issues with task-python.bb for example,
I have the error code :
"Unable to inherit from file task.bbclasse"

so I had class task.bbclasse from denzil to dora in directory meta/classes but I had another error when I do:
    bitbake core-image-sato

    "
ERROR: QA Issue: /media/7bbcd1dc-541d-4d45-9465-562b6e90287b/siga/poky/meta-isee/recipes-devtools/tasks/task-python.bb: Variable ALLOW_EMPTY is set as not being package specific, please fix this.

    "

I don't see why for the moment, and I work to solve the first problem :D

Did you know who did the layer works, maybe I can re-use the custom layer and no re do already done work on it !

    Thanks,
    Marc

this error is still a personal issues :)

    "
    yocto documentation told me :
    "
    4.1.2.5. IMAGE_FEATURES

Image recipes that previously included "apps-console-core" in IMAGE_FEATURES should now include "splash" instead to enable the boot-up splash screen. Retaining "apps-console-core" will still include the splash screen generates a warning. The "apps-x11-core" and "apps-x11-games" IMAGE_FEATURES features have been removed. "

But I don't understand, generation don't give a Warning but an error ... I can't do anything, and it doesn't generate anything...

    Hi,

I don't know your software image requirements, but i recommend to compile firstly a core-image-minimal image, this image has less dependencies so it will have less errors.

Finally, add the required recipes to fit your specs

    Cheers!

    Hi Maathor,

If you don't need to use TI tools like DSP, you can use a vanilla kernel. These kernels are not officially supported by ISEE due some incompatibilities, but they fit better with Yocto latest releases.

I made a core-image-minimal rootfs with the following software:

    - Yocto Dora 1.5.3
    - meta-igep: meta-igep latest release supports Yocto Danny, but I didn't get any error with Dora
----> Modify linux_3.2bb recipe to compile a zImage kernel binary instead uImage
    - Latest u-boot image compiled with CodeBench Lite 2014.05-28 for ARM EABI.

I booted these software with IGEPv2-RC6 and a serial cable, but i didn't tested anymore.

    Hope it helps

I will never understand, I have "again" an issue to make u-boot image ......

    I have :

    ls ../../crosscompiler/arm-2014.05/bin/
    arm-none-eabi-addr2line arm-none-eabi-gcc arm-none-eabi-objcopy
    arm-none-eabi-ar arm-none-eabi-gcc-4.8.3 arm-none-eabi-objdump
    arm-none-eabi-as arm-none-eabi-gcc-ar arm-none-eabi-ranlib
    arm-none-eabi-c++ arm-none-eabi-gcc-nm arm-none-eabi-readelf
    arm-none-eabi-c++filt arm-none-eabi-gcc-ranlib arm-none-eabi-size
    arm-none-eabi-cpp arm-none-eabi-gcov arm-none-eabi-strings
    arm-none-eabi-cs arm-none-eabi-gdb arm-none-eabi-strip
    arm-none-eabi-cs-daemon arm-none-eabi-gprof cache
    arm-none-eabi-elfedit arm-none-eabi-ld
    arm-none-eabi-g++ arm-none-eabi-nm

    I do :

    make CROSS_COMPILE=../../crosscompiler/arm-2014.05/bin/arm-none-eabi- igep0030_config
    #
    # configuration written to .config
    #
    #
    # configuration written to spl/.config
    #

    and :

    make CROSS_COMPILE=../../crosscompiler/arm-2014.05/bin/arm-none-eabi-

    and I obtain :

    scripts/kconfig/conf --silentoldconfig Kconfig
    scripts/kconfig/conf --silentoldconfig Kconfig
    CHK include/config.h
    GEN include/autoconf.mk
    GEN include/autoconf.mk.dep
    GEN spl/include/autoconf.mk
    CHK include/config/uboot.release
    CHK include/generated/version_autogenerated.h
    [...]
    LD spl/drivers/mtd/onenand/built-in.o
    LD spl/u-boot-spl
    /bin/sh: 1: ../../crosscompiler/arm-2014.05/bin/arm-none-eabi-ld: not found
    make[1]: *** [spl/u-boot-spl] Error 127
    make: *** [spl/u-boot-spl] Error 2

    Humm, yeah , WTF !?

    file ../../crosscompiler/arm-2014.05/bin/arm-none-eabi-ld

    gives me :
../../crosscompiler/arm-2014.05/bin/arm-none-eabi-ld: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.16, stripped

    ..... OK (facepalm)
    EDIT:
tried in root user, or default user
    I download crosscompiler from https://github.com/RIOT-OS/RIOT/wiki/Family:-ARM

    Hi,

    Try with this source: https://sourcery.mentor.com/GNUToolchain/release2785

I installed as root user to the following path: /opt/sourcery. Finally:

    "make CROSS_COMPILE=/opt/sourcery/bin/arm-none-eabi- igep0020_nand_config"
    "make CROSS_COMPILE=/opt/sourcery/bin/arm-none-eabi- "

Thats works thanks, I have a MLO file compiled with CodeBench, and I have a core-image-minimal.rootfs.tar.bz2...

I tried to use the script provide by isee to make a bootable SD Card (igep-media-create), I put the MLO file in .../tmp-workdir/disk/boot but when I lauch the script MLO file is remove and the script gives me an error (MLO : no such file ...)

How did you make your sdcard ?

I made a SDCard with wiki find there : http://labs.isee.biz/index.php/How_to_boot_from_MicroSD_Card

I have made it with the zImage create by yocto, but a have the issue :

    Hi,
I try to make a core-image-sato with previous meta-isee from pau pajuelo,
    I have an error :

And .... I don't really understant why bitbake can't create my tar ...

    Hi maathor,

I tried to use the script provide by isee to make a bootable SD Card (igep-media-create), I put the MLO file in .../tmp-workdir/disk/boot but when I lauch the script MLO file is remove and the script gives me an error (MLO : no such file ...)
igep-media-create doesn't work, because hierarchy binaries don't match like default firmware

    ### ERROR ### Please RESET the board ###

Did you copy the u-boot.img into boot partition?

Try to populate your SDcard with the next steps:

In /poky/build/tmp/deploy/images/igep00x0 you should list rootfs and kernel binaries.

Once you created the SD partitions, you should copy rootfs and kernel as root or sudo, as the following examples:

    ROOTFS: sudo tar -jxvf core-image-minimal-igep00x0.tar.bz2 -C /media/rootfs/
    KERNEL: sudo cp zImage /media/rootfs/boot/zImage
    KERNEL MODULES: tar -xvf modules-igep00x0.tgz -C /media/rootfs/

Finally: copy MLO and u-boot.img into boot partition.

    Hope it helps
